How can a teen raise capital for their new business?

While a teen does not have the typical access to formal funding for entrepreneurial pursuit they may:

  • Get family and friends to gift money, tools or equipment needed for the business
  • Form peer-partnerships with like minded teens to pool resources
  • Negotiate a loan with a trusted adult, that has a low simple interest rate and a repayment schedule that you can set.
  • Do odd jobs, extra chores or part-time work to raise money to invest in starting the business

Is the JN Financial Academy Summer Camp held annually?

Yes. The camp caters to high schoolers across the island interested in financially geared topics. The Summer Camp is usually held over multiple days and delivered virtually with a field trip component. 2024 is the 3rd year of Summer Camp hosted by the Foundation.
